Did you know that your previous experience or formal study can be credited towards a qualification that will further your career? At AIM, experience translates into a qualification.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Previous experience or formal study in a particular area of work may be recognised and credited towards a qualification via Recognition of Prior Learning or RPL. This process can be used for up to 50% of a Higher Education qualification, or up to 100% of a VET qualification. The cost of this process is $490 per unit. If you qualify for 100% of RPL for the Diploma of Management, the cost will be $2300. To see if you qualify, please contact us on 9534 8181 or email qualification@aimvic.com.au.
Assessment of RPL can involve a workplace visit and/or submission of a portfolio of evidence. The term portfolio describes the assembled information or documented evidence you present to demonstrate your existing skills, knowledge, competencies and personal attributes. A detailed RPL kit will be provided for each unit to help you understand what evidence is required.
It is important to apply for RPL if you think you already have the experience relevant to the units of competence contained in the course. The advantages of applying for RPL include
finishing your program earlier, attending fewer days of training and only studying units that are new and challenging.
Mutual recognition
AIM can also recognise qualifications from other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) or Higher Education providers. If you wish to include units from other organisations in your
AIM qualification, you are required to provide a certified copy of the Statement of Attainment or Transcript of Results for verification. We will check whether these can be used toward
the qualification and advise you accordingly. There is no cost for this process
