2012 Australian Training & Investment Report

The Australian Training and Investment Report (ATIR) is a highly valued annual publication that gives executives in human resources, learning and development, and other senior managers the data to support decision making and investment allocation. The report provides in-depth insights into investment levels; priorities; delivery methods; evaluation; succession planning; and talent management. It helps you understand how your organisation compares with other Australian organisations and it also builds awareness about the future directions for training and development.

This year’s edition of ATIR has been expanded to include new segments on social media usage and online training. The 2012 ATIR will compare data responses to those in last year’s report to showcase investment trends and priorities. All data, graphs and tables will be presented in easy to understand formats. Report data includes:

• Total annual investment in Training, Learning and Development (TL&D).
• Total TL&D staff numbers and wages including percentage breakdown of data such as the number of TL&D staff compared to total staff.
• Strategic direction. Critical HR development/TL&D challenges facing Australian organisations.
• Training needs. Key subject areas for TL&D.
• Training delivery methods. Key delivery methods used and their effectiveness.
• Evaluation. How organisations formally evaluate the effectiveness of training.
• Reporting systems. How results are reported to the executive team.
• Succession planning. Usage and success rates.
• Talent management. How skilled employees are sourced and key challenges.
