Write Reports and Proposals 2012

Reports and proposals have their own set of writing rules. They need to be
structured in a logical way to convey the message and information clearly.

This program provides an overview and practical examples on how to
present information effectively so that it clearly communicates its business
purpose and facilitates action by the reader. Conventions of how to organise
information within a proposal, brief or report are covered and practised.

Duration
One day a week for two weeks

Pre-work
Participants are asked to bring samples of their own or company reports, briefs,
proposals, style guides, minutes or agendas to class for discussion and editing
during day two of the course, conducted in AIM’s computer lab.

• Different kinds of report and presentation options
• Conventions for tenders and proposals
• Using the formatting options in MS Word to create headings and tables of
contents
• Defining your audience and communicating concisely
• Collaborating on writing reports and proposals
• Documenting versions and authorship
• Minutes, task lists and agendas
• Appendices, tables, style guides and referencing
